Why Design Sketch on AI Image Tools
Follows the sketch, not its imagination
The instruction keeps the exact shape, proportions and design details you drew. It renders your object rather than a stock one.
Name the material
"Matte black aluminium", "white leather", "frosted glass": material and finish are the words that matter most.
Iterate cheaply
Five credits and under half a minute per render means you can try three finishes before lunch.
Clean backgrounds
Renders come on a soft studio backdrop by default. Ask for a cyclorama, a gradient or a lifestyle setting if you need one.
Every image model in one place
Pick any of these from the Model menu above; the price is shown before you generate. Each name links to what that model is good at. Compare every tier.

How to use Design Sketch
- Step 1
Upload the sketch
Dark lines on a light background photograph best. Crop to the object.
- Step 2
Say what it is
"Matte black wireless speaker, studio product shot". Add material and finish.
- Step 3
Render and refine
Change one word, material or backdrop, and run again.
Get a better result
A few choices before you upload change the output more than any setting on this page.
Dark lines on light paper
The model reads your outline as the shape to render. Faint pencil on a shadowed page reads as noise.
Crop to the object
Cut out the rest of the page, your hand and the desk. Everything else competes for attention with the product.
Name the material, not just the object
“Matte black aluminium”, “frosted glass”, “white leather”. Material and finish change the render more than any other word.
How to write a prompt for Design Sketch
Product name
Start with the noun: speaker, sneaker, lamp, bottle.
Material and finish
Matte, brushed, glossy, translucent; aluminium, leather, oak.
Color
One or two colors, named plainly.
Angle and backdrop
Three-quarter view, soft gradient backdrop, subtle reflection.
Pricing
Every tool draws from one balance.

Design Sketch: frequently asked questions
Does it keep my proportions?
Yes. The instruction is to keep the exact shape, proportions and details of the sketch.
Do rough doodles work?
Yes, as long as the outline is readable. The cleaner the lines, the closer the render follows them.
Can I get several angles?
One view per run. Draw or describe the other angle and run again.
Photoreal or illustration?
Photoreal studio renders by default. Ask for "flat illustration" or "technical line drawing" if you want another look.
What happens if a generation fails?
You are only charged when an image comes back. If the model fails or times out, nothing is deducted and you can simply run it again.
Can I use the results commercially?
You keep ownership of what you upload and what you generate, on every plan; see the Terms of Service. Free downloads carry a small watermark, paid plans download without one.
