Will Background Remover work on your photo?
Match what is wrong with your image to what this tool can realistically do. Where it cannot help, the row says which tool can.
A clear subject against any background
Good matchProduct shots, portraits and pets are the core case. The output carries a real alpha channel, not a white fill.
Hair, fur and feathered edges
Good matchSemi-transparent edges are kept soft instead of being cut with a hard line, which is what most manual selections do.
Several subjects in one photo
Partial improvementEverything the engine reads as foreground is kept. To isolate one person from a group, crop to them first.
Glass, smoke, or a motion-blurred edge
Partial improvementThe engine has to commit to a boundary somewhere. Semi-transparent materials are where it has to guess most.
You want a new background, not transparency

Why Background Remover on AI Image Tools
A real alpha channel
The output has true transparency, not a white fill. Drop it onto any background in any editor.
Hair, fur and fine edges
Semi-transparent edges such as hair strands and fur are kept soft rather than cut with a hard line.
No prompt, no settings
Upload, click, done. The engine detects the subject on its own.
Then put it anywhere
Need a new backdrop instead of transparency? Send the photo to Image to Image and say "replace the background with a plain white studio backdrop".

Get a better result
A few choices before you upload change the output more than any setting on this page.
Give the subject some separation
A dark jacket against a dark wall is the hardest case for any cutout tool. Contrast between subject and background does more than any setting.
Cut out before you restyle
The cleanest mask comes from the original photo. Restyling first bakes new edges into the image that the engine then has to interpret.
WebP keeps the transparency
The output is WebP with an alpha channel — every browser and editor opens it. Convert to PNG only if a client specifically asks for it.

Background Remover: frequently asked questions
Is the background really transparent?
Yes. The file carries an alpha channel. Open it in any editor or browser and the background is empty, not white.
Can I get a white background instead?
Yes: run the photo through Image to Image with "replace the background with plain white", or place the transparent cutout on white in any editor.
What about several subjects?
Everything the engine identifies as foreground is kept. For one specific person in a group, crop first.
Does it work on product photos?
That is its best case: clean edges on bottles, shoes and boxes for listings and ads.
What happens if a generation fails?
You are only charged when an image comes back. If the model fails or times out, nothing is deducted and you can simply run it again.
What happens to my photos?
Your upload is sent to the model provider only to produce the result. The result is stored in your My Creations gallery on our own storage, and you can delete it there at any time.
